Bud Beaudry, President

Bud Beaudry is the President and Founder of BTP Systems, a company which has consistently grown under his leadership since its inception in 2003.  Each year of its existence Bud has reinvested into the company to capacity and capability to BTP to mirror the needs of our customers.  Bud has built a talented team of engineers, technicians and professionals that work collectively to ensure that customer requirements are consistently exceeded.  Bud is well recognized in the industry which has allowed him to develop and sustain mutually beneficial and effective relationships with third-party strategic partners.  This has allowed BTP to establish robust design, manufacturing and testing capabilities.  Prior to establishing BTP Systems Bud successfully built and grew the Satellite Communications Division at Millitech Inc.  He was responsible for a 1200% increase in capacity for the division under his leadership.   During this time the staff increased from 6 to 42 employees while he expanded facilities capabilities from 1,200 sf to 34,000 sf. During his 15 year career at Millitech, Inc. Bud worked as a program manager on all production programs, negotiated multi-year contracts, and was responsible for all aspects of marketing and strategic positioning of SATCOM capabilities.

Rob Welsh, Principal, Chief Engineer

Rob Welsh joined BTP Systems in 2008 after an illustrious 22-year career at Raytheon designing some of the most sophisticated and successful SATCOM antenna pedestals and related electromechanical systems currently in use by the U.S. and NATO Armed Services. His expertise in multi-axis, actively stabilized platforms spans programs such as MILSTAR Contingency and Airborne, NESP, GBS, WSC-6 (V)5 and (V)7, FOT, SubHDR Mast and Periscope, NMT and numerous variants and enhancements of these systems.  Rob employs his extensive skills directly on behalf of the DoD customer to resolve performance issues for both legacy and newly deployed SATCOM platforms. At BTP Rob leads a diverse team of engineering talent and his responsibilities include the technical supervision of the development, production and operation of all engineering projects.  His efforts include providing oversight of each phase of the installation, equipment maintenance or product development so that the tem meets company specifications and complies with stated key performance parameters while adhering to our company Gate Process review structure.  Rob has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island and works in BTP’s Newport, RI office.  

Michael Girard, Senior Vice President

Michael Girard joined BTP Systems in 2012 after an over 20 year career at Tele-Consultants, Inc. (TCI), a women owned small business that provides professional support services to various Government agencies.  During his career at TCI, he worked his way from being as a program analyst to the Vice President of Operations.  Under his leadership TCI saw it sales increase from $ 5 million annually to over $20 million annually.  Michael brings a background in program and acquisition management experience to BTP Systems having served as the Program Manager for all levels of Acquisition Category (ACAT) programs.  He has worked with various government agencies to support the procurement of SATCOM Systems, while generating a business case to support the establishment of a repair facility for the Submarine High Data Rate Program at NUWC Division Newport.  Michael also has experience in leading large proposals efforts as he was responsible for the establishment of key teaming relationships and contract wins while working at TCI.  Michael is working with several of BTP’s customers to execute program requirements for multiple development and sustainment programs.
Michael has a BA from Stonehill College and works in our Ludlow facility.
